Coastal provinces are expanding their inland waterway tourism

The coastal provinces of Cambodia or K4 have been expanding their tourist destinations to attract inland waterway tourism with neighboring countries.

Preah Sihanouk Province:

This morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Embassy of Japan signed an agreement to receive more than 11 million US dollars in assistance from the Japanese side, which will focus on the development of cruise ships in the famous and prefecture. There is this rapid growth.

Sihanoukville Autonomous Port has also been upgraded to help promote and facilitate the docking of major international cruise ships.

Kampot Province:

With the help of the Asian Development Bank, the Ministry of Public Works has been pushing for the construction of a beautiful port to attract cruise ships from Vietnam, Thailand to the dock. 

The lotus-shaped port has been under construction, scheduled for completion this year.


Kep Province

The small province is also building its own crab-shaped port, which is located near the port crossing to Koh Tonsay today.

The port has been under construction to facilitate connectivity with the port of Kampot, as well as improve the environment, aesthetics, and interconnection with other ports.

Koh Kong Province

According to the Governor of Koh Kong Province, Ms. Phu Thong Mithona, the Ministry of Public Works has inspected the possibility to build a new tourist port in Khemarak Phoumin City in the provincial town of Koh Kong. 

However, she did not say when the tourist port in the remote province would be built.
